Arriving on a late flight into Vancouver Internation Airport (YVR)? Need to get to Whistler?
You now have an option! Up until recently, if your flight arrived after 11PM then you had very few transportation options and all of them were expensive. You had to book either a private taxi or a limousine. That is a lot of money for one or two people to get to Whistler!

Christmas at Whistler: Limos, SUVs, & Shuttles are in Short Supply!
Casey Woods — Sat, 12/15/2007 - 19:55
Christmas time is the busiest time of the year at Whistler and that means the Sea to Sky highway is full of limos, shuttles, SUVs, vans, buses, etc. Availability is not usually an issue on the Vancouver Airport to Whistler route as there is normally enough supply to meet the demand. However, that changes over Christmas as people descend on Whistler for the Christmas break.
We Now Have Online Booking!

Whistler Car Hire / Rental: Summer Good. Winter Bad!
Casey Woods — Tue, 12/04/2007 - 16:01
UPDATE: The RCMP have been checking vehicles on the Sea to Sky highway and ticketing vehicles that don't have proper winter tires and/or chains ($109 ticket). Vehicles that don't have appropriate tires are then turned around and sent back to Vancouver. This isn't happening all the time, but keep it in mind when considering whether you should rent a car. You might get lucky and have dry roads for your trip. Or not. Remember, almost none of the rental cars available at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) would make it through those checks!
Heading to Whistler? Fly to Seattle and Save Money.

Planning a vacation to Whistler? If you're an American, make sure you look into the cost difference between flying to SeaTac (Seattle-Tacoma) Airport and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Depending on the size of your group, you could save a significant amount of money by flying to Seattle and then hiring a limousine, car, minbus, SUV, etc. to drive you up to Whistler.
