Vancouver Airport to Whistler: Your Best Winter Transport Options

Heading to Whistler, BC for a winter vacation? Wondering what your best options are for getting to Whistler from Vancouver International Airport (YVR)?
The trip from Vancouver to Whistler is probably further than you think!
Our clients are constantly surprised when they find out that the driving time to Whistler is a minimum of 2 hours. I'm not sure why, but there seems to be a misconception that Whistler is just outside the Vancouver city limits. Its not. Depending on traffic and weather, the average trip from Vancouver International Airport is 2.5 to 3 hours. However, it can be longer if its snowing, if you're traversing Vancouver during rush hour, or if you're battling weekend traffic on the Sea to Sky highway.
We encourage you to take the length of the drive into account when choosing the transportation for your trip. This is especially true if you're travelling with children after a long flight! (Been there, done that).
Your Best Transportation Options:
There are a lot of great ways to get to Whistler. However, these are the 2 options that I would choose for my friends and family.
- Whistler Shuttle - This service provides an exceptional level of service and is undoubtedly the best transporation value servicing the route between Vancouver and Whistler. More Information | Book Online - Vancouver to Whistler Shuttle
- Luxury SUV - A chauffeured Suburban is a great way for families or groups of 4 to 6 people to get from Vancouver to Whistler. These SUVs are very comfortable (leather seats!) and have DVD screens to keep the young ones happy. Safety is important, and the SUV is a great choice on snowy roads due to its four wheel drive traction. More Information | Book Online - Vancouver to Whistler SUV
